The Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti Regional Chamber is a 1,300-member community organization that actively facilitates, educates and advocates on behalf of its members through our services and programs. Chamber member offerings include numerous networking opportunities and events, educational seminars, leadership development, special offers to Chamber members from Chamber members. Blessings in a Backpack is a results-oriented program. This unique program is designed to feed elementary school children whose families qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal program, and have little to no food on the weekends. Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of this program. Brighton’s Downtown Development Authority, led by its volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community leaders, is dedicated to providing a vibrant business district featuring successful businesses, adequate parking and family friendly atmosphere for merchants, area residents and visitors to the DDA district. The Authority is further dedicated to ensuring that both the businesses and the customers who shop in the DDA district have a safe and pleasant experience during their time spent in the DDA area. An example of this dedication is the installation of pedestrian-operated lighted crosswalks on Main Street. The Michigan Association of Home Builders (MAHB) is a professional trade association, chartered in 1948 with the National Association of Home Builders. Their site is designed to offer consumers information about the building industry and expanded information for members of the Michigan Association of Home Builders. The St. Joseph Mercy of Livingston Hospice offers a wide range of services that meet the many physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Their goal is to achieve constant control over pain without impairing alertness. Patients are encouraged to remain as active as possible and stay in close contact with family and friends. Women’s Council enhances the roles of both women and men in the building industry by fostering personal and professional relationships while promoting a positive image of the building industry through community outreach, educational and political awareness. |
The Belleville Area Council for the Arts started on a front porch on Main Street with the idea that the Belleville area communities needed the cultural and educational activities that an Art Council could offer. With that first spark of enthusiasm, the Council has grown and flourished into a thriving organization offering diverse programs and events designed to promote and encourage the cultural life and art experiences of the Tri-Community area and beyond. The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce has two separate Chambers within itself, the Pinckney, Lakeland, Hamburg, Hell Chamber of Commerce and the Whitmore Lake Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber supports local merchants like Synergy. Each year thousands upon thousands of people visit the downtown's in the Chamber area to attend civic, social and business events. This has a great impact on the local economy. The Home Builders Association of Livingston County (HBALC) is a not-for-profit professional organization representing its members while addressing the interests of the building industry and the community-at-large. As the voice for the building industry, the mission of the HBALC is to support and enhance the economic growth and quality of life in our community. Synergy Environmental is sponsoring the Staples Family Center; a safe, drug-free homeless shelter operated by the Salvation Army of Washtenaw County (TSA-WC). Residents and house staff work together to keep the house running smoothly by assisting each other with meal preparations and daily chores. The Staples Family Center has provided hope and direction to individuals and families since TSA-WC first began operating a family shelter more than 20 years ago. The Westland Community Foundation is committed to improving the lives of every citizen of Westland. Since 1995 the Westland Community Foundation has contributed over $508,000 to Westland based organizations benefiting children and families in need. For over 13 years we have been successful in helping those less fortunate and fund community based programs benefiting the Westland community. |
